Marine Aircraft Group 481 helps with Mockup Restoration
|
By Mike Whaley
|
The staff and members of the OV-10 Bronco Association (OBA) would like to sincerely thank Marine Aircraft Group 481, which is based at NAS JRB Ft. Worth and commanded by Col. Richard Packard. Col. Packard and members of MAG 481 provided a low-boy tractor and trailer and assistance so that we could move the fuselage section of the Tri-Service OV-10 full-scale mockup from the OBA Headquarters at the Vintage Flying Museum at Meacham Field to the Lockheed Martin facility in Fort Worth, where a group of volunteers is working hard on the restoration of the mockup. The OBA does not have the heavy resources required for moving this large item, but the Marines generously provided the resources so we could take the next step in this restoration project.
We would like to extend our special thanks to Gunnery Sergeant Mingus who coordinated the move, as well as to Sergeant Cole who drove the vehicle.
When the project is complete, we look forward to having members of the 481st join us to celebrate the dedication of this important part of military aviation history. OOOOOOOOOO-RAH!!!
