Forward Air Controllers Museum The OBA is also a driving force behind launching the Forward Air Controllers Museum (FACM) to honor the extensive, but little-known, role of Forward Air Control throughout history. Your support of FACM will directly help to preserve this history for future generations. The FACM motto is "One Mission - One Community" and the aim is to focus not on any single conflict, aircraft type, or military service, but to put the entire history of Forward Air Control into context. While most people think of the Vietnam FAC in a Bird Dog, O-2, or Bronco, the history of Forward Air control ranges from balloon-borne spotters during the Civil War through to the advanced unmanned aerial vehicles being developed today... with an incredible amount of history in-between. Properly researching, preserving, and presenting this extensive history is a daunting task, to be sure. But it is something that we feel strongly about. FACs have long had a key role in military history, one that is little-known yet increasingly important, and it is a subject which is unlikely to be properly and completely covered anyplace else.
